Mrs. Comfort Boog-Paye
Board Chairperson
Mrs. Comfort Boog-Paye is an accomplished Public Administration professional and academic. She has a wealth of experience in strategic management and leadership, her illustrious career spanning more than fifteen years and also encompassing a strong blend of theoretical expertise and practical execution. Her work involves driving organizational governance through financial integrity to achieve transformative social impacts across diverse sectors.
As a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Public Administration of the University of Liberia, Mrs. Paye nurtures students into dependable future leaders while at the same time applying her expertise across the non-profit and corporate sectors. Her leadership credentials cover a broad scope of high-impact roles that include the following:
- Chairperson, Alliance for Women Advancement (ALWA) Board;
- Member, University of Liberia Credit Union (ULCU) Board;
- Founder and Executive Directorof the Yes We Can Young Women Mentoring and Development (YOWOMED), YOWOMED Vocational and Training Program for empowering vulnerable youth and women through skills development and economic empowerment, and the Gifted Hand Microfinance scheme, respectively;
- Co-Founder and Coordinatorof the Association of University Women Lecturers of Liberia (AUWOL), the largest network for Women in Higher Education Academia; and
- Chairperson, Grievance and Ethics Committee for the University of Liberia Faculty Association (ULFA), which is the primary organ responsible for upholding institutional integrity and fair practice.
Mrs. Paye brings informed oversight and strategic vision to the PGT Boardroom. As Chairperson of the Board, she employs her vast knowledge from similar leadership roles in various corporate boards and organizations through at least four Strategic Thematic Areas:
- Corporate Governance and Ethics: Ensuring regulatory compliance, promoting transparency, and fostering a culture of accountability;
- Financial Oversight and Strategy: Collaborating with management on robust budgeting, financial controls, and sustainable profitability;
- Strategic Leadership and Consensus Building: Chairing productive meetings, facilitating inclusive discussions, and aligning diverse stakeholders toward common goals;
- Resource Mobilization and Economic Empowerment: Leveraging deep experience in local resource mobilization to create scalable poverty reduction strategies, particularly for women and girls.
A creative and solution-oriented strategic thinker and goal-getter, Mrs. Paye excels at translating vision into operational reality, making her an invaluable asset in steering organizations toward sustainable growth and advancement. She is a PhD student in Organizational Leadership at Adventist University of Africa (AUA) in Nairobi, Kenya, holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from the University of Liberia and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree from Valley View University in Ghana.
She also holds Certificates in Management Development with emphasis in Human Resource Management from the Organizational Capacity Developers Institute (OCDI) in Swaziland, and Strategic Planning on UNSC 1325 (GAPP) Gender and Peacebuilding.
